Good morning

At 8 am this morning the Commission for Financial Literacy and Retirement Income released Focusing on the Future, a discussion document on the 2013 Review of Retirement Income Policies. A PDF copy of the document is attached to this email, or you can find it here on the Commission’s website. Hard copies are available on request.

Focusing on the Future is the culmination of a year’s work and is a precursor to the final report that will be submitted to Government before the end of 2013. It contains 16 inter-dependent recommendations on ways to ensure a sustainable system of retirement income in New Zealand for the future. Alongside the release of the 2013 Review, the Commission has launched a campaign called ‘What’s Your Story?’ which aims to drive awareness of retirement planning. Videos of ordinary New Zealanders, young and old, talking about retirement can be found here.

During October and November we’ll continue the conversation around these recommendations, and retirement planning more broadly, with New Zealanders. Please email2013Review if you would like to talk further about the 2013 Review, the campaign, and the issues raised.

Kind regards

Diane
