5.9 %.
How will this effect your current NZ Superannuation payment. It will increase from April 1, 2022.
The rates are reviewed and adjusted to take into account any increases in the cost of living (inflation) and average wages. The after-tax NZ Super rate for couples (who both qualify) is based on 66% of the ‘average ordinary time wage’ after tax. For single people, the after-tax NZ superannuation rate is around 40% of that average wage.
NZ Super is paid fortnightly.

Hello Alec
How often is this page updated as I notice that the date on the 2022 inflation rate is January 28, 2022 and at time of writing this is 28th February 2022 ?
Also when do you think we can expect the new Super rates (from 1st April 2022), be available ?
Many thanks
Anthony
Hi
Updated every 10 days or sooner.
The new Super rates which apply from April 1,2022 not yet out.
Hi there, just read about how much our super are getting. This should be paid out to them weekly thus they don’t starve waiting for the next payout. Another thing they should get a full entitlement regardless whether they are single, married or whatever. They are entitled for that regardless having said that they’ve worked hard for it yet at the end that’s all they’re getting. These should not be the case. It’s very shameful. How many of our super come to supermarket and buy their groceries not many because they are waiting for the fortnight payment. This needs to be changed. Hope our government can see and feel what it meant to live on with their super hard earned pathetic gold payout.
Sorry, I have to say these things coz I work at Retail and I felt what they’re going through.
Any comments will be much appreciated.
Well stated. I was talking to Susan St John, who reminded me, there was still unfinished business, after the spousal issue on this topic had been dealt with. I raised that recently with retirement Commissioner Jane Wrightson. You might wish to follow up with her office
