Janet Wilson comment on NZ Superannuation. A poor effort.

The Editor has been in Canada and USA.  No New Zealand news, but a number of North American articles, on the virtues of debt-free home equity release models , like those provided by NZ Lifetime income, were noticed.

Arrive home to see Janet Wilson commenting on NZ Superannuation.  Her assertions and conclusions in my view were a hotchpox, of inaccaracies, poor research, invalid assumptions, myths and perceptions.

Her concluding words  65 yr retirement “becomes a transition into other full or part-time work”, is so off the mark its ridiculous-we know regular meaningful work post 65 is only evailable to the educated. She clearly forgets 40% of NZ senior population rely completely on NZ Super, the next 20% have very limited savings, and of course her call for alternative policy, devoid of any policy suggestions

NZ Supe remains great Public Policy, no alternative, a splendid example of a developed world Pension scheme, applaud  and clap often

I expected better from Janet Wilson.
